WINNERS OF THE AUTUMN GRANT SEASON

The 40th Anniversary Meeting of the co-founders of the Urban Space 100 public restaurant was held on 26 January 2024. Among the 24 projects submitted to the competition, 5 projects received financial support for a total of UAH 280,414.

Learn more about the projects that received funding:
1.    STEM Project “Wings of Victory”; Grant amount: UAH 44,000
The project is aimed at engaging volunteers and students of the Ivano-Frankivsk municipality in technical and engineering activities, designing drones and inventing new defence solutions in order to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 
Urban’s grant will be used to purchase equipment and components for making drones.

2.    Inspiring Street Furniture; Grant amount: UAH 55,000
The project involves setting up three comfortable recreation areas in the city centre. Colourful vandalproof street chairs will be installed on the city streets. The project team hopes that the initiative will be scaled up, and that the community’s businesses and public activists will contribute to it.
Urban’s grant will go towards the procurement of eight vandalproof chairs. 

3.    Remembrance Workshop: Recovery through Creativity; Grant amount UAH 52,800
Remembrance Workshop is a holistic project aimed at recovery through creativity. In addition to helping the families of the deceased cope with grief, it enriches the cultural life of the city, contributes to the community cohesion and gives young people the self-actualisation opportunities. The project will hold a series of workshops for families of the fallen defenders of Ukraine.
Urban’s grant will cover the costs of materials for conducting the workshops.

4.    “Restoration of the Door on 1 Shevchenko Str. (Dniester Hotel), Grant amount: the project received partial funding of UAH 46,014 (requested amount was UAH 100,000)
The Dniester Hotel is a 100-year-old city landmark that has seen many significant events and historical figures during its lifetime. The building is divided into two parts, the hotel itself and the residential premises. The people living in the residential part are very active and have already invested their own funds in the restoration of the building on multiple occasions. The goal of the project is to restore the entrance door unit of the residential part of the building using old photos and interior doors as reference.
Urban’s grant will cover the manufacture of the door.

5.    “SUN Coordination Centre. Quadcopters with Thermal Imaging Capabilities for Military Units in the Prykarpattia Region; Grant amount: the project received partial funding of UAH 82,600 (requested amount was UAH 150,000)
The project is aimed at purchasing and transferring quadcopters with thermal imaging capabilities to military units of the Prykarpattia region, which will enable effective operation in conditions of limited visibility.
Urban’s grant will be used to purchase equipment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“We are grateful to all the active citizens who submitted their ideas. This season saw a large number of applications on various topics. This shows that even after the years of its existence, the competition is as relevant as ever. We supported several important projects for Ivano-Frankivsk. For this, we credit the restaurant’s patrons, as the grant fund is formed from 80% of net profit, enabling us to finance useful initiatives for almost 10 years,” emphasised Olesia Didyk, Coordinator of the Urban Space 100 Grant Programme.

Founded in 2014, the Urban Space 100 public restaurant, has supported 174 projects for a total of UAH 7,613,137 in almost 10 years of operation.
