Cinema in Support of the Armed Forces
Realized 02.05.2023 - 30.12.2023
25 900 UAH
This project — a continuation of last year’s project “More Ukrainian: Film Screenings in Support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine” — provided for a series of individual film screenings of the classics of world cinema to raise money for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The films screened at these film events were dubbed in Ukrainian for the first time specifically for the project.
Selected films:
▪️ My Uncle directed by Jacques Tati, France.
▪️ Love in the Afternoon by Billy Wilder, the US.
▪️ The Bakery Girl of Monceau, a short film directed by Éric Rohmer, France.
The screenings managed to raise UAH 45,350 that went to:
- Holding You! by the Come Back Alive Foundation — raising funds for educational and training complexes for tactical medicine;
- Together for Hospitaliers — raising funds for thermal blanket for keeping the wounded warm, infusion heaters, occlusive stickers, decompression needles;
- The Rescue Now Foundation, which provided relief efforts in Kherson after the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station by Russia;
- the purchase of vehicles for the Armed Forces by volunteer Andrii Liubka.
The grant from Urban was used for the translation and dubbing of 3 films.
The project received partial financing from the declared amount.
